The Agricultural Research Service (ARS) is the largest and most prestigious research organization of its kind in the world. It spans the country with over 100 facilities that are strategically located within the major farm and rangeland ecosystems throughout the country. The Southern Plains Area (SPA), one of eight Areas in ARS, is headquartered at College Station, TX. The SPA consists of Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, New Mexico, and the country of Panama.
